The
Home Run is a large cut block at the base of lower
Lodge Ridge, immediately above
Vertebrae Lodge. Vertebrae Lodge can be seen in some of these photos. The perfect end to a cat skiing day is a good line on the Home Run ending at the lodge door. This is a west-facing slope, so snow on the Home Run does not remain light for long periods and a fresh snowfall is needed for good skiing here. Other open cut blocks are found on the
East Ridge. The
cut blocks provide a wonderful playground in stormy weather.
The road to
Vertebrae glacier traverses to Home Run and passes through the trees at the top, on its way to the Spruce Creek gully. A run on the Home run usually starts somewhere on the road and passes through the trees before emerging at the top of the cut block. A line on skier's rignt can end right at the lodge.
